First, ensure you have a dial tone from the wall jack and that you are plugging the phone line into the OUT LINE jack on the unit (do not plug it into the TELEPHONE jack). If you are calling a long distance number, make sure you have long distance service on the phone line. (If you do not have long distance but are trying to call a local number, do not include the area code.)
Second, make sure you have correctly programmed the phone numbers. PASSWORD # 3 1 * [telephone number] # RETURN. The telephone number can be over 10 digits if needed. Use 3 2 instead for the second number, 3 3 for the third and so on.
If that does not solve the issue, try re-programming the numbers with a 1 (US and Canada country code) in front of the number. If you already programmed the number with a 1, try programming it without a 1. Different phone services can act differently.
If that does not solve the issue, temporarily unplug the sirens and wait at least 60 seconds while the alarm is sounding and the system is dialing out. Usually it only takes 15-20 seconds for the first phone number to begin ringing. In rare circumstances it may take up to a full minute. Disarming the system at any time will stop the calling sequence.
If that does not solve the issue, try using a different phone line to connnect the system to the wall jack.
